Holistic education that teaches “the whole child”.
The mission of King’s Academy is to be “a Christ-centered holistic learning community where students are equipped with a biblical world lens so as to excel in their God-given potential and fulfill God’s unique call and purpose for their lives.”
Traditional education faces a crisis. Standardized teaching practices often stifle student motivation, creativity and curiosity, contributing to increased stress, anxiety, depression, and disengagement. The rise in school violence, coupled with declining teacher morale due to excessive administrative burdens, further underscores these challenges. Student absenteeism, bullying (including cyberbullying), the rise of anxiety due to social media influences, mental health concerns and numerous behavior problems are also prevalent among our nation’s most vulnerable population.
Parents, too, are experiencing frustrations and dissatisfaction with the traditional school environment. In addition to busy family schedules, many parents are also burdened with overwhelming workloads or inadequate academic support, inadequate communication, regimented lesson plans, and an over-reliance on technology. Along with these administrative challenges, significantly less rest and/or unstructured free play times as well as a lack of parental involvement in the classroom has created barriers to a mentally and emotionally safe, engaging and supportive educational experience. Furthermore, new curricula that promote secular, unbiblical or immoral ideologies, along with the over-prescription of medication for behavior modification, raise concerns for many families.
The need for a wholesome and holistic change to how we educate the next generation of leaders is imperative if we want to have hope for a better future; a future where God is glorified and Jesus is King.
King’s Academy seeks to do just that.
Learning Done… Differently.
“King’s Academy strives to be a beacon of support to Christian families in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by providing a non-traditional holistic learning environment that sets us apart from other school designs as we seek to do school differently through instilling the values of loving God, loving people, and loving ourselves.”
Our vision as a school is to provide a faith-based, holistically-minded, independent learning environment where children can thrive. Our philosophy of education embodies the teachings of Charlotte Mason; modeling her belief in “the living method”, King’s Academy seeks to empower students to discover and develop their God-given talents and abilities through a biblical worldview approach encompassing academics, spiritual development, leisure activities and athletics. We aim to be a supportive community for families seeking an exceptional education grounded in Christian faith and biblical truth, particularly those whose children may struggle in traditional school settings or learn in non-traditional ways.
Our commitment to the core holistic principles of grace (loving God; 1 John 4:19), integrity (loving ourselves; Eph. 2:10), and service (loving others; Matt. 7:12) distinguishes us. We strive to be a school where "learning done differently" encompasses integrating these values into our school policies, teaching methods and practices, while at the same time modeling servant leadership and a lifelong love of learning for our students.
Charlotte Mason was a pioneer in her time; King’s Academy seeks to be the same.
