Frequently Asked Questions

Our school is set apart as a non-traditional learning environment where students and families have the freedom to set the schedules and curriculum that works best for their child’s success.  Students can attend either 3, 4, or 5 days per week, are allowed frequent play/rest breaks and leisure time activities, little to no reliance on computer-based learning tasks, no homework or standardized testing, portfolios instead of letter grades, outdoor classrooms, project-based learning, and multi-age classrooms.

Our learning model is multi-age level; students are grouped based on stage of development rather than age and/or grade. Currently, we are structured to accept students from ages 4yo to 13yo (K-8 approximately), however, we plan to include programming for high school aged students (ages 14yo-18/19yo) in the near future.

Tuition for the year is based on a 3, 4, or 5-day schedule (attendance at school is for a specified amount of hours per day = 900 hours/year based on an individual family's needs).

Students attend one to two days of academic classes (Science, History, ELA, Math, Geography, Religious Study, etc.) with one to two days reserved for their enrichment courses (ARTS, STEM, Foreign Languages, Physical Fitness and Emotional Health, etc.), and one day reserved for exploratory learning (independent study and/or tutoring, lesson-based research, apprenticeships, leisure and hobby time activities and events, service work responsibilities and/or projects, etc.).

Tuition covers the fees associated with teacher salaries and facility maintenance, costs to provide students with enriching academic and cultural experiences, missions work and service-learning opportunities, community-wide activities, along with annual school-wide events, ceremonies and celebrations.  Curriculum materials, snacks & lunches, and uniforms are the responsibility of each family. Discounts are available for families with multiple children enrolled as well as those willing to volunteer their time, talents, and resources on a regular basis.
